KETTLE ROYALE

February 2023

In the perfect blend of collaboration and competition, your favourite breweries in Western Australia’s South West have divided into four teams to battle it out in the first official KETTLE ROYALE.

The brewing teams, picked at random, were given an open brief to create a one-off collaboration festival brew that was launched at the South West Craft Beer Festival, in Signal Park, Busselton on Saturday February 25th.

Punters attending the Festival had the chance to try all four brews on tap, and cast their vote for their favourite team.

“The Alliance members, demonstrating a sincere approach to collaboration, with a fine balance of competition thrown in, have embraced the opportunity to partner in smaller groups, on beers which will be judged by the public at the South West Craft Beer festival."

This activity epitomises the spirit with which the Alliance has formed and continues to mature since inception 18 months ago. The creativity and ingenuity of the brewing community in the South West appears to know no bounds.” Keith Warrick, Chair, South West Brewers Alliance.

All proceeds from the sale of the KETTLE ROYALE brews at the Festival helped fund the South West Brewers Alliance (SWBA).

SUNSHINE & LOLLIPOPS

January 2023 - Fundraising brew for SWABA

Facilitated by CBCo, this Oatcream IPA was brewed with Talus hops, using oats & lactose for body and viscosity, plus a hint of vanilla for sweetness.

Following in the footsteps of our inaugural SWBA fundraising brew, SUNSHINE & LOLLIPOPS was tapped at all participating SWBA breweries, with funds assisting to cover SWBA operational costs.

German Wheat

January 2023 -
Fundraising Brew for Line In The Sand

Facilitated by Shelter, this easy drinking German Wheat was developed and released in collaboration with Line in the Sand, to raise money for OzFish

OzFish is a not-for-profit dedicated to working with fishers to make local fishing grounds healthy, vibrant and more productive. This collaboration raises money for OzFish’s project to remove harmful, invasive domestic fish species from native waterways in Vasse.

Farmhouse Saison

March 2022 - Fundraising brew for SWABA

Facilitated by Margaret River Brewhouse, this “brewer’s beer” collaboration brew was intended to be launched at the South West Craft Beer Festival.

Unfortunately, as it was the time of Covid 10, the festival was cancelled last minute.

This gave us the opportunity to launch this brew collaboratively in our own breweries across the south west, as well as with independent retailers in the south west and Perth metro areas.

It is fundraising brews such as this that generate a large proponent of operating funds for the SWBA.

THE RISING

December 2021 -
Fundraising Brew for Line In The Sand

Facilitated by Rocky Ridge brewing company, this very sessionable Pale Ale raised much needed funds for dune rehabilitation in the local Toby’s Inlet area.

In addition to funds generated by the sales of the beer, the team at Rocky Ridge also spearheaded an incredibly successful planting day, where over 5000 native seedlings were planted at the regeneration site. Go team!!
